Legal Raise (poker)
An amount that constitutes a raise of a full bet, having various
interpretations, depending on the club. In a limit game, in
some card-rooms, a legal raise must equal the limit
(for example, a $10 bet must be raised $10; $9 does not constitute
a legal raise);
in others, half a bet constitutes a legal raise. The rules are
even muddier in no-limit games.
