Rap Pat (poker)
1) Stand pat, that is, at the point when one is supposed to
draw, tap the table with one's cards or rap on the table with
one's knuckles as an indication that one will not draw any cards.
2) Extended figuratively, draw no cards (but without necessarily
actually performing the act of tapping the table with one's
cards or rapping with one's knuckles). "How many cards
did John take, dealer?" "He rapped pat."
