Shot poker
1) An Angle shot (A poker player who uses various underhanded,
unfair methods to take advantage of inexperienced opponents.) - .
2) A chance to play. "I'd sure like a shot in that game."
3) A stake. If a player (usually one without money) asks a floor
person to "Give me a shot," he is asking if the floor
person would put him in the game, that is, stake him.
4) Any cheating move. "He has to get a little booze in
him before he takes a shot."
